I work with adults individually. Please be aware, that I no longer work with teens. My clinical experience includes men's issues, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, anger/self-control, family and marriage issues, career/work-related issues, interpersonal conflicts, and conflict resolution. Men face pressures, stigmas, and responsibilities that can be difficult to bear. I specialize in working with men who feel angry, conflicted, frustrated, or generally unhappy. Clients are expected to be self-motivated, want counseling, and be willing to engage in discussion.
Therapy improves insight into struggles and strategies to improve your life. A safe place to vent is essential, but only a part of the therapy process. Setting treatment goals and taking action steps are necessary to elicit positive change.
Entering counseling can be challenging, including facing social stigmas that portray counseling as a sign of "weakness" or overly feminine. Many people who receive counseling demonstrate strength, insight, courage, and resilience. I strive to be a "real" person who is approachable, conversational, and employs a sense of humor.
